For many of you the past few weeks have been a blur. You have been working tirelessly to rebook clients, handle cancellations, and answer questions about travel insurance, what happens next, and more.

While you have been dealing with all these issues, I hope you have a had a great support system to help get you through. For many of you that comes in the form of your host agency and/or consortia. How are they stepping up to help? Are they reaching out? Adding more training and resources? Unfortunately, some have gone into hiding. Others have had to lay off their support staff so no one is getting help.

As is often the case, at Gifted Travel Network we have taken a different approach. Our mantra through all this is Focus on Forward. We haven’t laid off anyone and we are working harder than ever to support our members. Please allow me to brag a bit on some of the great things we have done to help our members:

• Waived all membership fees for 2 months – even for our members on 100% commission. We know cash flow is tight and commission will be greatly reduced and we hope this will help.
• Added a weekly touch base call hosted via Zoom so our members can see one another, share, and connect. It’s so reassuring to see these faces each week!
• Hosted one-on-one calls with top producers to help them with anything they need.
• Activated a team to triage supplier issues and escalate where appropriate.
• Created a new area of our member portal loaded with resources to help our members navigate all the “things” associated with this situation from cancellation policies to applying for SBA loans.
• Provided ezine content and social media posts to give them one less thing to worry about.
• Hosted new webinars to help members prepare for the coming rebound including:

o how to clean up their client lists,
o how best to take advantage of Virtuoso resources,
o hosted a town hall with our preferred travel insurance partners to get answers to their questions, and
o invited a special guest to talk about fully utilizing email marketing.

This last point touches on something we at Gifted Travel Network we believe in wholeheartedly: email marketing. Its value has been proven time and time again with our members. Those who have been consistently sending out email marketing are seeing the rewards of it now. Not only are their open rates exceeding 50%, but they are getting emails from people they’ve never heard from before who want to talk about travel for late 2020 or 2021.
