Everyone has points in their life where things seem to glide along smoothly and other times when it seems like your path is littered with obstacles. Or you look at where you are versus where you thought you would be and wonder what went wrong.

One of the reasons a lot of people (and particularly women) don’t achieve the success they could is that don’t really feel they deserve it. They actually block things from coming their way because they don’t feel like they are worthy of it or haven’t sacrificed enough for it. That’s not a nice way to treat yourself.

Perhaps what is holding you back is a lack of energy. Everything you do in life either gives you energy or takes your energy – nothing is energy neutral. If your business isn’t giving you energy and is actually draining you, then you are blocking good things from coming your way.

So how do you turn things around when you get into one of these situations? The first thing is to make sure you love what you are doing. Why are you doing it if you don’t love it? It’s one thing to have a job that you have to have to pay the bills, but if your travel business isn’t fulfilling, then fix it!

You can course-correct whenever you need to improve things. And you should course-correct. Often! Successful businesses do it all the time. Sometimes those changes are tiny and sometimes they are major. But they identify the problem, find a solution, and take a new course. You should know that there are lots of resources out there to help you find the right path.

But wouldn’t it be great if you could avoid a lot of mistakes in the first place? What if there were a way you could find out the right path and not have to go down every rabbit hole just hoping it is the right one?

Thankfully when it comes to working in travel there is a way: our Travel MBA program. People getting into the travel industry for the first time often think they know what they need to because they have traveled a lot. Sorry, it doesn’t work that way. There is an UNBELIEVABLE amount to learn on the business side of travel. Sure, you might know all the great little sidewalk cafes in the Montmartre area of Paris, but you don’t know the ins and outs of booking it. Or how to charge for this amazing expertise you have developed. Or even how to get clients who WANT to work with you and are glad to pay your professional fee. What good is this great knowledge without someone to share it with?

Let us help you with the business side of your travel business. Whether you are just getting started or have been “dabbling” in the travel business but haven’t cracked that $100,000 sales level, then we can help. It is what we are really amazing at. A lot of host agencies focus on sharing vendor training and that’s important, but it is only a small percentage of what you need to have a successful travel business. Marketing, client attraction, profitability strategy – these are all critical to making money and not just having a hobby.

But time is running out. The doors close tomorrow (November 9) for 2018 enrollment and won’t reopen until March 2019. If you have been thinking about joining us, please do. We would be honored to help you build your travel business!

If you want to chat about it, reach out to me at joinus@giftedtravelnetwork.com and I’m happy to talk to you.
